NAG ‘direct award’ prize for best financial math project using NAG

NAG Awards in collaboration with academic institutions

The NAG Prize at the University of Manchester is awarded annually to recognize the achievements of students on mathematical and computing related MSc courses.

2009 winners were Rebekah Carter for her MSc in Mathematics & Computational Science and Eleni Koufopavlou for her MSc in Mathematical Finance. Both students were chosen for their outstanding results and achievements on their chosen courses.

The Wilkinson Prize for Numerical Software

The Wilkinson prize will be awarded at ICIAM 2011 in Vancouver, July 18-22, 2011.
Entries must be received by September 1, 2010

In honour of the outstanding contributions of James Hardy Wilkinson to the field of numerical software, Argonne National Laboratory, the National Physical Laboratory, and the Numerical Algorithms Group award a numerical software prize every 4 years.

The 2007 Wilkinson Prize for Numerical Software was awarded to Wolfgang Bangerth of Texas A&M University, Ralf Hartmann of DLR Germany and Guido Kanschat of Texas A&M University for the software package ‘deal.II’
