Leaders in Technical Collaboration

Throughout its history, NAG has been involved in collaborative ventures with universities, research and commercial organizations worldwide, ensuring that NAG remains at the forefront in research and development. This collaboration with other organizations is a continuing activity within NAG.

Projects in progress or recently completed include:

  • ADVISE - The research project Analysis of Data in a VISual Environment will see the development of a toolkit for visualization and analysis by merging statistical and visualization methods funded through the DTI's Technology Programme.

Earlier projects include:

  • MKM -Mathematical Knowledge Management Network funded by the European Commission, as part of the Information Society Technologies (IST) Programme of the Fifth Framework.
  • MONET - a two-year investigation into mathematical web services funded by the European Commission, as part of the Information Society Technologies (IST) Programme of the Fifth Framework.
  • EUREDIT - a European Commission funded project (under the IST programme) concerned with developing and evaluating new methods for editing and imputation.
  • PINEAPL - a project in the area of High Performance Computing and Networking (HPCN).
  • STABLE - a project in the area of Statistical Visual Computing Environments (Fourth Framework, Task 1.11).
  • FRISCO - a project under the Esprit Reactive LTR Scheme (project No. 21.024).
  • OpenMath - a project under the Esprit Multimedia Standards Initiative (project No. 24.969).
  • DECISION - a HPCN project concerned with integrated optimisation strategies for increased engineering design complexities.
  • NICONET is a project of the Working Group of Software (WGS), funded by the European Community BRITE-EURAM III Thematic Networks Programme NICONET,under contract number BRRT-CT97-5040. Main goal: the development and evaluation of numerically reliable software in control engineering and its implementation in production technologies.
  • VIVRE - (Visualization through an Interactive Virtual Reality Environment) is an EU funded project under the Preparatory Support and Transfer (PST) programme.
  • METROS - a project to develop an effective mechanism for software reuse in Metrology (Software Support for Metrology Programme, project 3.2).
  • BLAS, LAPACK, FOCUS, GRASPARC, SUPERNODE II, SLIPARCH and KINEX.

NAG also participates in other partnerships with academia and Research Councils e.g. CASE Studentships, Teaching Company Scheme, Leonardo Programme etc.
